Key Responsibilities
· Supervising daily Furnace Operations: Overseeing the operations of melting furnaces, including temperature control, fuel efficiency, and maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production.
· Metal Composition Analysis: Monitoring and adjusting the chemical composition of molten metal to meet specific engineering requirements and quality standards. Using spectrographic analysis and modification of metals and testing of micro samples.
· Implementing Casting Techniques: Developing and refining casting methods to produce precise and defect-free metal parts.
· Optimizing Foundry Layouts: Planning and modifying workflows within the foundry to enhance production efficiency, minimal downtime and reduce material waste.
· Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring the proper functioning, regular servicing, and calibration of furnaces, molds, and other foundry equipment.
· Resource Management: Managing raw materials such as alloys and additives required for the melting and casting processes to minimize costs and optimize usage. Management and planning of manufacturing in the foundry melt area.
· Process Innovation: Introducing new technologies and practices to improve melting and casting processes, such as the adoption of eco-friendly furnace systems.
· Carrying out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained in the production operations.
· Safety Compliance: Enforcing strict adherence to workplace safety standards to protect workers from the hazards associated with high-temperature operations and molten metals.
· Problem Solving: Troubleshooting issues related to melting, casting defects, or equipment malfunctions to maintain production flow.
· Data Monitoring: Utilizing production data to analyze efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions effectively.
Additional Responsibilities
· Training Personnel: Educating and supervising foundry staff to ensure they follow best practices for furnace operations and casting techniques.
· Quality Assurance: Conducting post-production inspections on metal components to ensure they meet industry standards and client specifications.
· Environmental Standards: Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations by managing emissions and waste generated during melting operations.
Qualification
-Bachelor’s degree in industrial or production engineering.
Work experience:
-At least one year of full-time work experience
