Purpose of Job
To support Manufacturing Engineering to maintain and improve equipment efficiency in production, maximising uptime through planned preventative maintenance and prompt corrective maintenance. This role will be eventually cover our afternoon shift, working from 2pm until 10:30pm.
General duties
Ensure production breakdowns and equipment failures are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Initiate Root Cause Analysis when higher level process problems and breakdowns occur, engaging with the other members of Manufacturing Engineering to escalate where required.
Create/contribute to supporting documentation related to the maintenance of production equipment.
Support and train production team in maintenance and operation of equipment to increase knowledge where applicable.
Repair and upgrade equipment as required with a fix it forever attitude
Some contractor management including assisting with maintenance of the building
Undertake other reasonable tasks delegated by one of the manufacturing engineering leadership team.
Safety
Ensure all tasks are consistently undertaken with safe working practices and adherence with REDARC WHS policies
Line Manager must be contacted immediately for any WHS concerns and machines isolated
Quality
Highlight any part quality issues to the Quality Department as a result of production support activities
Highlight any supplier quality issues to Procurement Department as a result of production support activities
Maintenance
Ensure preventative maintenance is conducted and recorded on all equipment as per schedules.
Plan and schedule preventative maintenance into daily duties.
Plan and schedule calibrations into daily duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
Certificate 3 qualification (or studying) or higher - REDARC would consider supporting with any further relevant study.
Substantial hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated problem solving ability.
Ability to communicate and support the broader team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Desirable):
Automotive manufacturing experience highly regarded.
Knowledge of Pneumatics, sensors and actuators.
