In this role, you will:
- Support children and families through effective case management that meets legal and policy requirements
- Assist in safely returning children to their families and help provide secure, stable care arrangements
- Write clear, evidence-based reports and present information in court when required
- Keep the workplace safe by reporting hazards, incidents and injuries, following correct procedures
- Work collaboratively with a team focused on positive outcomes and shared responsibilities
To be successful:
You are a driven and organised professional with a solid understanding of child development, family relationships and the causes of child abuse. You apply this knowledge confidently in complex situations to support better outcomes.
You communicate effectively and build strong relationships with both families and professionals. Your approach to child protection is respectful of cultural differences, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from diverse backgrounds.

Essential:
AHP1: $68,478 - $83,594 + 12% Super
PO1: $68,478 - $83,594 + 12% Super
AHP: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
PO: Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
