Job Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical Services, Adelaide

At O'Connors our Senior Project Engineers work across some of the best Commercial, Health, Education and Defense industry projects in Adelaide and we are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Construction team.

O’Connors have grown exponentially over the past 25+ years and due to continuing expansion and significant mechanical projects in the pipeline we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the One O'Connors team.

Do you have effective project leadership, scheduling, pre planning, resource forecasting, cost control, coordination and implementation skills relating to projects in a mechanical services environment. Outstanding delivery of Project management outcomes is required.

Working with the Heads of Engineering and Construction, Project Engineers and the other relevant team members, you will have experience with Quality, Safety and Compliance systems. Strong forecasting, project engineering and delivery skills will identify you for this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead Engineering review processes required on projects.

• Ensure projects are being constructed according to the Project plans.

• Assist with Project controls including budgeting, scheduling and planning.

• Assist Project Managers with regard to engineering, commissioning and contract compliance.

• Assist in preparation of engineering project proposals.

• Liaise with clients and maintain relationships.

• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure quality engineering drawings.

• Effective planning, programming, coordination and implementation of all on site construction activities through to final sign off.

• Thoroughly understand the contract documents and requirements as they apply to project construction.

• Implement the company's on site Quality and WHS procedures

• Supervise and support the construction / installation processes.

Skills Required

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• 5+ years delivering Mechanical/HVAC industrial and commercial projects within Australia

• Strong project management and systems capabilities.

• Experience managing subcontractors, in house project managers and site supervisors and the financial aspects of projects accurately

• Knowledge of both the principals and details of air conditioning system design and operation

• A solid understanding of the electrical, fire, hydraulic and general building operations which impact on the project

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills

• Strong negotiation skills

• Have the ability to work under pressure when required.
